'Working
in Partnership'
The recently
completed extension for the Aston Hotel at Newton Park near
Darlington utilised an elegant single storey curtain wall
with inset opening lights from AM Profiles. The hotel
required an extension to the dining facilities and further
room for administration, straddling the main entrance of
the hotel the aluminium and glass structure is now a
striking feature of the hotel.
The installer, FGM Metnor, worked closely with AM Profiles
who provided the fabricated curtain wall and windows. The
partnership between the two companies has worked so well
that further projects have now been secured. Ray Kemp of AM
Profiles commented, “Whilst the project is not a large
project for AM Profiles, the partnership we have with FGM
Metnor is excellent. Working this well with a customer
allows us to reduce our costs to be even more competitive
and we look forward to a long lasting partnership between
our two companies”.
‘KAYEWALL 46’ was chosen for the project as it has
exceptionally slim lines for a curtain wall system having
just 46mm mullion width whilst maintaining good insulation
properties. Windows are from the ‘Vectra’ range and the
main entrance comprises of AM Profiles commercial doors.
“We chose the systems from AM Profiles as they have a broad
portfolio of systems allowing us to meet the design
requirements of our client. We are also pleased that we can
obtain the systems in fabricated form ready for
installation on site by our own installers” a
representative from FGM Metnor commented.
‘Partnering’ is an ideal term used when working within a
main contract, the ‘partnering’ between these two companies
is working to the benefit of both and the industry would be
better positioned if more contacts were undertaken on this
basis. AM Profiles is currently working on their next
project with FGM Mertnor, Victoria Hall at Ryslip, and are
looking to secure future work.
