AM Profiles Launch Composite Folding Sliding Door

AM Profiles has extended its range of timber aluminium composite products to include a high quality Folding Sliding Door system. The new composite product compliments the windows, hinged door and curtain wall already available under the Design-5 banner. The new folding sliding door system from AM Profiles is a premier composite system. Stainless steel bearings in the pivots and carriers allow even the largest doors to be moved with fingertip ease between the open and closed positions.

The Design-5 sliding folding door is available fully fabricated from AM Profiles and registered manufacturers or can be supplied in a ‘flat pack’ easy to assemble kit form. The aluminium bar length profiles are available as a ‘system’ to aluminium fabricators or constructed aluminium squares can be supplied to joinery manufacturers.

The Design-5 composite sliding folding door accommodates the Centor hardware system which offers a high degree of vertical and lateral adjustment. Panels up to 3000mm high by 1000mm wide, and 80kg in weight can be produced. The system is designed to accommodate up to 16 door panels within a frame so an opening of 16 metres is possible. The folding sliding door has been designed for strength and ease of use and is proportioned to meet the requirements of specifiers looking for a solution in medium to large residential and commercial applications.

The new timber aluminium door can be produced with or without midrails, muntin bars or slim-line astragal bars and have glazed or panelled areas so facilitating a range of aesthetically pleasing design options. To form a screen arrangement the folding sliding door can easily be connected to windows or hinged doors manufactured from one of AM Profiles’ Design-5 composite systems.


The aluminium to the outside surface of all the Design-5 composite products can be supplied in the full powder paint or anodised colour range whilst the standard timber offered for the inside is engineered Pine in a clear water based factory finish. Other timbers and finishes are available subject to volume. The combination of resilient coated aluminium outside, warm timber inside linked with the Centor hardware creates a beautifully easy door to use and live with.
