AM Profiles – 900m2 Composite Curtain Wall Completed

AM Profiles has recently completed the supply of 900m2 of laminated timber / aluminium composite curtain walling for Northbury School in Essex.

AM Profiles’ composite curtain wall is manufactured in the UK and due to the unique way the transoms connect to the mullions the system copes with significant sealed unit weights. In fact the advanced hidden connection method between transoms and mullions ensures neat completion and will facilitate glass weights of up to 450kg per panel. Large unsupported mullion spans are possible as the front-to-back size of the section can be increased to deal with the wind loading. The laminated timber sections are supplied fully finished so the ‘build’ is very similar to an aluminium curtain wall.

The composite curtain wall has been successfully tested at Rosenheim and CWCT and meets the PassivHaus thermal requirement 0.8W/m2K.
