A Rated Composite Window
 
AM Profiles’ Design-5 UNI Window has recently achieved BFRC thermal ‘A’ rating.  The excellent performance of both the double glazed and triple glazed options are based on a model window of 1.48m high and 1.23m wide
 
The Design-5 timber aluminium clad 28mm double glazing window is A with a labelling index of 0 and a U value of 1.4 W/ (m²K).  The 36mm triple glazed option is A with an index of 20 and a U value of 0.9 W/ (m²K).  The double glazed A rated window uses 4-20-4 SGG Diamant outer pane, 90% Argon and SGG Planitherm Total on the inner pane with a U value of 1.19.  The Triple glazing is 4-12-4-12-4 with SGG Diamant outer pane, 90% Argon, SGG Planitherm Total centre pane, 90% Argon and SGG Planitherm Total inner pane – this gives a centre pane U value of 0.743.  The Spacer Bar on both of the above is SGG Swisspacer.
 
The AM composite window features powder painted aluminium on the outside and generally FSC European Laminated Pine on the inside.  A clip feature between the aluminium and the Pine separates the two materials.  For longevity all the timber corners are traditionally jointed.
